After letting game 1 slip away from them, Denver needed a win to get away from a possible 2-0 hole going into Denver. The Lakers started off the game strong and looked like the game could have been over in the first quarter. Denver came back with 14-2 towards the end of halftime to only be down 1 point at the half. The Lakers were not able to contain Carmelo Anthony or Chauncey Billups as Denver was able to win a close one last night 106-103. The series is now tied and headed to Denver for game 3.

Chauncey Billups is the main reason the Denver Nuggets were able to end up as the No. 2 seed coming into the playoffs. He really helped turn around the team. Game 1 was spectacular for the point guard and so was game two. Chauncey scored 31 points in the 108-93 rout of the New Orleans Hornets. David West had 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Hornets but it was not enough to take down the emerging Nuggets team. The Nuggets now lead the series 2-0 and are headed to New Orleans for game 3.
