The NY Jets turned their season around at the best time and squeezed themselves into the playoffs. Today’s game was against a Bengals team that went through some emotional events throughout the season and turned back into a winning team, but today it was for the Jets. Mark Sanchez went 12-15 with 182 yards passing and 1 touchdown. The NY Jets beat the Bengals 24-14 and advance to the second round of the AFC playoffs.
Being on the right path in life and on a re-emerging team in the NFL were two big parts of Chris Henry’s life that was sadly taken early this morning. After falling out of the back of a pickup truck in what authorities described as a domestic dispute with his fiancée late last night, Chris past away early this morning.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said the 26-year-old Henry died early Thursday, less than 18 hours after he fell off the back of a pickup truck on a curvy residential street about eight miles northwest of downtown Charlotte.
This is very sad and Chris will be dearly missed. R.I.P. Chris Henry.
After being cut by the Kansas City Chiefs for making derogatory remarks at his coach, Larry Johnson has found a new home. The Cincinnati Bengals signed Larry Johnson to a 1-year contract. Since he is a veteran and veteran contracts are guaranteed in the beginning of the season, he will receive his $4 million from the Chiefs and earn an additional $255,290 from the Bengals, the veteran minimum for the remainder of this season. What do you think?
So the Cincinnati Bengals are showing up this season and not playing games! The Steelers have always been a problem for the Bengals but yesterday they were able to step up and win a close one 18-12. The game of the week was big because it was a big match-up between the Patriots and the undefeated Colts. The Colts were on the verge of losing their first game but Peyto0n Manning led a final drive within the last 2 minutes to win the game 35-34. Other scores from yesterday were:
Chargers 31 – Eagles 23
Cardinals 31 – Seahawks 20
Packers 17 – Cowboys 7
Chiefs 16 – Raiders 10
Panthers 28 – Falcons 19
Redskins 27 – Broncos 17
Jaguars 24 – Jets 22
Vikings 27 – Lions 10
Dolphins 25 – Buccaneers 23
Saints 28 – Rams 23
Titans 41 – Bills 17
Tonight’s game is the Ravers versus the Browns.
I don’t know if you can say they are back, but the Bengals are having some success this season as they improved to 4-1 this season with a late 4th quarter drive to beat the Baltimore Ravens 17-14. They are playing well this season and if they can keep it up, may reach the playoffs for the first time in a couple seasons. Caron Palmer looks like he may be back!
