NBA Draft 2011 Recap

As expected, the Cleveland Cavaliers selected Kyrie Irving from Duke University with the No.1 overall pick in last night’s draft. The rest of the draft was not too crazy but there were a couple somewhat significant trades. The Nuggets, Trailblazers, and Mavericks were part of a three-team deal that landed Andre Miller in Denver and Raymond Felton in Portland. Also, Rudy Fernandez landed in Dallas as part of the trade.

Charlotte traded top scorer Stephen Jackson to Milwaukee in a three-way deal involving the Sacramento Kings that gave the Bobcats two picks in the top nine.

• Bobcats receive: No. 7 overall pick Bismack Biyombo (from Sacramento); Corey Maggette (from Milwaukee)
• Bucks receive: No. 19 overall pick Tobias Harris (from Charlotte); Stephen Jackson (from Charlotte); Shaun Livingston (from Charlotte); Beno Udrih (from Sacramento)
• Kings receive: No. 10 overall pick Jimmer Fredette and guard John Salmons (from Milwaukee).

The Morris brothers from Philly both were drafted to Phoenix and Houston, respectedly. Kemba Walker landed in Charlotte.

Cleveland Cavaliers Trying To Get 2nd Pick In NBA Draft

The Cavaliers already have the top overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft. There are rumors of them attempting to get the 2nd pick from the Timberwolves as well. In return, the T-Wolves would get the 4th and 8th overall picks in which Cleveland would get the 8th from Detroit first if they buy out Richard Hamilton’s contract. The first two picks would probably be Kyle Irving from Duke and Derrick Williams from Arizona. The draft is next month.

Lebron James To Change Jersey No. To Number “6”

Looks like Lebron James is really changing his number. It looks like he will be wearing No. 6 next year. Reason being is that he wore the number during the Olympics and Julius Erving, his second-favorite player, wore it as well. Will this be the retirement of the No. 23???
