So the first weekend of the 2011 NBA Playoffs is behind us and several upsets, surprises, and crazy games occurred. On Saturday: Miami was able to hold off the Philadelphia 76ers comeback as well as the Bulls over the Pacers, Dallas defeated Portland, and Atlanta handed Orlando a loss. On Sunday: Memphis upset No. 1 Spurs, the Hornets handed the Lakers a loss, Ray Allen hit a clutch bucket to help the Celtics beat the Knicks, and Oklahoma City came back to defeat a hungry Nuggets team. Crazy weekend and more to come!!!
The Eastern Conference Playoffs are set for the NBA!!! There are a lot of good match-ups and potential 2nd and Championship match-ups. The most intriguing will be the No. 3 & No. 6 seed in the first round between the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks. A lot of people are saying the Knicks are the upset alert team because of the way Boston has been playing and with the loss of Kendrick Perkins in the middle. Besides this match-up, we will see the No. 1 Chicago Bulls face off with the No. 8 Indiana Pacers, No. 4 Orlando Magic vs. No. 5 Atlanta Hawks, and the No. 2 Miami Heat vs. No. 7 Philadelphia 76ers. It will be a crazy set of games to reach the finals in the East.
