Texas Rangers Cut SF Giants Lead To 2-1

The Texas Rangers were able to pull off a 4-2 win over the Giants to make the series 2-1 with the Giants 2 game lead turning to a 1 game lead. Pitcher Colby Lewis led the Rangers with a dominating game and rookie Mitch Mooreland hit a three-run homer to help lead the Rangers to a 4-2 win.

The Giants kept it close last night until about the 8th inning. It was 2-0 until the giants went crazy on Texas in a 7 run 8th inning to take a 9-0 lead and win by that score. Matt Cain silenced the Rangers and now the Giants are two wins away from a World Series title.

San Francisco Giants Advance To NLCS

The San Francisco Giants advanced to the NLCS last night with a 3-2 victory over the Atlanta Braves. It is their first time since 2003 reaching the NLCS. For the Atlanta Braves manager, Bobby Cox, it was his last game as a manager as he had previously announce his retirement. Game 1 of the NLCS is Saturday between the Giants and Phillies.

Tim Lincecum Wins 2009 NL Cy Young Award

Many thought it would be a St. Louis Cardinals pitcher to win this year’s NL Cy Young Awards but it was not. San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum won the award by 6 points. Lincecum did not have the most first place point but in the ended had the most overall points. Congrats. This is his second in a row!
